Fr. Walter Genito was born on 7th September 1993. The only child of Walter and Bernadette Genito, he grew up in Suffern, New York and attending Sacred Heart Grade School and Don Bosco Preparatory High School. In his early adolescence, he discerned that God was calling him to the priesthood. This prompted him to participate in the Cathedral Prep Discernment Program throughout his high school years and to enter college seminary immediately after. From the Fall of 2011 to the Spring of 2015, he resided at Cathedral Seminary House of Formation in Douglaston, New York, while taking his undergraduate classes at Fordham University. From the Fall of 2015 to the Spring of 2019, he resided at Theological College in Washington, D.C., while completing his coursework in graduate theology at The Catholic University of America. He was ordained a priest on 25th May 2019. After receiving a Licentiate in Sacred Theology in 2020, he ministered as a parochial vicar at the Parish of St. Martin de Porres in Poughkeepsie, New York for one year, and then at the Parish of St. Columba in Hopewell Junction, New York for three years.
